‘The Etiquette of Discomfort’ for Polyester Zine
———
From the moment I wake I am held by this heavy feeling. The feeling that all I am to you is an object of desire. It is in those days of contemplation where I realise I am seen, but not truly heard.

There is an etiquette to my discomfort in order to stay comfortable. It is in that moment where I truly lose myself.

“The Etiquette of Discomfort” explores female autonomy, bodily unease, and the tension between intimacy and performance. Set within the domestic interior, the series uses movement and stillness to express the private, skin-crawling conflict between identity and gaze. It is concerned with the quiet, cumulative impact of being perceived as something before being recognised as someone.
